Question #5:
Most Bang for My Wedding Buck?? Help!?
My Fiance and I are Grad Students so we are on a very limited budget. However, our families are going to help us out as much as possible, though they can't spare much either. We have a few months to start saving before we need to start booking venders. Regardless of where we have our wedding, a portion of our guests will be coming in from several different states. Here are the options we are considering to have out wedding/reception. Our guest list is about 100 - 110 (and this is the shaved down version). We would like a simple but elegant reception. We live in Washington DC - everything is expensive here. Ideally, we would get married in a church and have a cocktail reception at a winery or such. We would have to purchase the alcohol through the winery ($) and hire a caterer for the food and service ($), and then we would have a transportation issue as well. Can we feed 100 on a cocktail menu?
Charleston, SC - We LOVE this place. Everything is cheaper down south, but it is a tourist destination so prices may be inflated. The guest list would be cut (some people won't travel that far) so that could save us money, but I would have to hire a wedding planner to handle the details since I am far away. Thinking about a wedding in a garden or public park, reception at a nice restaurant/banquet hall. Guests would order off the menu, we would pay.
My hometown/Parent's home - Church is .5mile from my house. We would have to rent everything ($), tent, china etc. We would make most of the food ourselves, but hire servers to serve it family style/ clean up. Guest Hotels would be 30min away, however. We do have ample parking at our. home. But.. its still a back yard.
What do you think is the best option? I am craftly and would love to do my own flowers, invites and crafts to help save money, if the location allows.
Question #6:
Christmas Party Situation?
Okay here's the dilema. On December 6th we are having our company Christmas Party. It's semi-formal, it's at a nice hotel banquet room where there will be a nice sit down dinner, cocktails, the works. The company owner is going to be there so I have to not only be on my best behavior but also my "guest". Here is where my dilema comes into play. I was told today by my boss that my guest is a must. I can't come alone because they have already paid for his/her plate. But I am recently single, they all know this. I have no one I can bring, no female friends, no male friends, no one. As depressing as this must sound I am okay with being a recluse. I have my son who is 8 and I am content at this juncture in my life. However this Christmas Party has turned into my hell on earth. What do I do? How do I find a date in with such sort notice? I don't want my company's christmas party to be our first date. I need to know that whoever I do bring will be mature, respectful, won't take advantage to much of the open bar and the free hotel room that night provided by the company. They have to be able to carry themselves with dignity and at least put on a good front when the head of the company is present. I am open to suggestions any and all would be appreciated. This is so important to me. Thanks.Question #7:
do eclectus parrots get along with a cocktail?
Question #8:
Why do I look like a junkie?
I have never done a drug, or smoked a cigarette, and I drink only socially, about 1-2 cocktails max and only when out for dinner or with friends. I have always been very health conscience. I don't eat fast food, sugar, or drink soda. I drink 2 liters of water a day. I use all natural products on my skin and hair. So why is it that I have dark purple circles under my eyes, acene, weird bruises on my legs and back I can't explain, yellow teeth, egg shell nails (fingernails that fold over instead of growing outward) spider veins, and my body seems to hold on to toxins, although I'm not sure what toxins I'm consuming. I'm also really pale. Why is it that a lot of people who do drugs, drink, and smoke have great skin, are thin, and don't have dark circles? It's not genes because no one else in my family has any of these problems. What could be wrong with me?No, I eat meat, I'm not anorexic, I have no eating disorders at all.
I picked up a whitening kit and have used it twice and so far my teeth are pretty white!
Question #9:
ALS Icebreaker Dress?
Ok, so this is a little short notice but I need to know what to wear to my husbands ALS icebreaker. He is wearing his blues but is not required to wear the dress jacket with it. Its like a mixer where he is supposed to meet and mingle with his superiors and colleagues. Ive been told church dress or cocktail which are both different to me. If it is church dress I would wear a nice pair of jeans with a nice dress top but if its a cocktail party I would wear a white knee-length dress with blue and black flowers on it to match his blues.so to sum it up what do I wear so I'm not overdressed and so I don't make him look bad?
Question #10:
Does this sound like a good cocktail?

Can anyone think of any other ideas? Would cranberry make a good Mojito (sounds weird but you never know)?where do you assholes who just leave retarted answers come from? Go back to your mothers basement Nick!

Can anyone tell me a rough price of Cocktail Waiter Hire for private party (in-house)?
I am organising a Hen do on behalf of my best friend and need some advise. We are going away for the weekend to a beautiful private house in a village outside of Newquay and it seems silly paying to go to some grotty sweaty club when the house we are staying in is so lovely.
I was thinking of hiring some cocktail waiters to throw around some bottles and shake up some tasty cocktails for us one evening and was wondering if anyone can tell me a price or recommend someone/somewhere who could give me a price.

Homesickness? Bereavement?
Recently (3 months ago) I moved to a small town (appx. 250,000 people) from a city of over 3 million. Reason for my move was to complete schooling. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone in this city. At first, I didn't really miss my home, but now, I am starting to feel it more. Its getting quite depressing not having friends, being away from my significant other, and family. I originally coped with going to the gym rigorously, but now, its not giving me the same fulfillment as it once did. Back home, weekends and weekdays were occupied by hanging out with people. Here, I am social at my job, but afterwards, its quite isolative. I meet people at the gym, but its hard making pals at the gym. Also, with a small town, many groups are clicky, so hard to become a part of those as well. To make my weekends more social, I got a job at a local bar (as a bouncer), but even this ostrasizes me. I find my humor is not up to par. I think I come off as too "professional" (as my regular job calls for a high degree of professionalism) and not one to go with the flow (only after a few cocktails perhaps).Anyways, just feeling down lately. Don't feel like calling any of my friends back home, view it as a chore/nuisance rather than enjoyable. Worry that my friends back home will "forget" me upon my return (in 10 months, I moved away for 1 year).
I don't know whats wrong with me, honestly. I sometimes wonder if I don't know how to socialize well with others, or, have I not found the right crew. I don't know what else to add. I'm 25 years old, Male. Tips? Anyone experience this when they moved away?
Thanks for reading.
